The Basket Brigade is founded on a simple notion: one act of generosity on the part of one caring person can transform the lives of hundreds. It takes only one light to dispel the darkness and just one basket to bring hope. A Basket Brigade takes place when one person prepares one basket for personal delivery to a needy family or individual.

 Throughout the Christmas holiday season, in over 200 cities across the globe International Basket Brigade volunteers will deliver food, clothing and hope to those who need it most.

Hundreds of thousands of hungry, needy people are fed by this incredible effort every year. They are not strangers – they are people in your own community, people who live in your own city or town, people who walk the same streets and ride the same buses as you.

The Basket Brigades are spread across Australia and provide baskets to all from big cities to small towns.  Where ever we know of a family in need we will deliver a basket.

Last year we packed 3,500 Baskets and provided supplies to a number of the inner city shelters.  This year our aim is to provide a special Christmas treat to over 6,000 families.
