The
2008 Basket Brigade went extremely well once again in Australia
thanks to the commitment of so many enthusiastic volunteers.
Although the global financial crisis was biting there were a lot of
baskets packed and delivered across the Country.
In
all we packed and delivered a very impressive 3526 baskets across
eight locations in Australia.
This
year we were delighted to welcome Perth, who thanks to the very
enthusiastic small group did a fine job. They are looking to expand
next year. Sydney was once again the largest Brigade with just
under 2000 hampers packed and delivered. It really is an awesome
effort by a very well organised group of volunteers. In 2008 we
packed baskets in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, the Gold
Coast, Launceston, Grafton and Perth.
All the Brigades are always looking for new volunteers so if you
would like to join in this year please contact your local group.
Should you wish to start a new group please get in touch with the
Basket Brigade co-ordinator, Ron Batt who will pass on the details
you’ll need to start a new Brigade. It’s not as daunting as it may
appear. You just need loads of enthusiasm and a few like minded
people.
The
Basket Brigades are fabulously fun festive program and we would
love you and your family & friends to get involved.
